Season Cancelled Through March 31st Due to COVID-19

We have been working diligently over the last few days to ensure that we are taking the appropriate and applicable measures to ensure the safety of everyone in our community with regards to COVID-19.

It is paramount to us that we act where appropriate to reduce the risk of exposure to, and transmission of, this virus. However, we also understand the value to our children’s emotional and physical well-being that they have access to athletics wherever possible. Additionally the CDC have been vocal on the importance of following guideline as they are put in place but otherwise continuing with daily life and not panicking or overreacting.

With that being said, at this time NorCal have made the decision to cancel all games through March 31st. See their statement below.

After reviewing the updated guidance from the State of California, and the various county public health departments in Northern California regarding COVID-19, NorCal Premier Soccer will be suspending all competitions and events until March 31, effective immediately. This includes club-hosted games, NorCal-hosted games, Playdates, PDP, Coach Education events, US Soccer License courses, Referee Education events and club meetings. NorCal Member Clubs are advised to follow guidance from the State of California and their own county public health departments when making decisions on their own training programs & club operations.

Fresno County Department of Health has recommended that we follow the guidelines from the Center for Disease Control published for K-12 schools. Key aspects of these are:

Any child or adult who has had a fever or respiratory infection symptoms MUST not attend any Cosmos event (including practice). Any that exhibit those symptoms will be sent home immediately.

Use “respiratory etiquette” – Cover mouth with elbow when coughing etc.

Wash hands frequently or use hand Sanitizer

No handshakes, high fives, hugs etc.

Adults who choose to remain at practice (not recommended) must remain 6 feet apart.

In addition:

There will be NO team meetings, team dinners, team building events etc. that are held in an enclosed space (a room, restaurant, house etc.).

If you are not comfortable attending or especially if you or your child belong to any of the groups that are more susceptible to complications of the virus. We fully support your right not to attend. Please just keep your coach informed.

If you travel to Cosmos from a community that has had a greater exposure to the virus, please contact for guidance.

Should 2 or more cases of community transmission within Fresno County occur we will update with further recommendations.

Should anyone within our club community test positive then we will immediately cancel all activities and work with the Department of Health to deal with those exposed. If you, or someone you have been exposed to, tests positive, you must let us know immediately.

Ultimately you are responsible for your, and your child’s health and well being and as such we will respect any decisions you choose to make regarding attendance.
